LEAP LAB VENTURA

A SCIENCE CENTER/RETREAT for ART, SCIENCE, and SELF-RELIANCE

We recently acquired 15 acres with a beautiful mountain range to the south, and the city of Santa Paula to the north.  The house on site, built in 1892, will serve as a meeting space, kitchen and dining hall for retreat guests.  The 4200 sq. foot steel barn will contain exhibits in science, art and self reliance.

WORKING WITH SCHOOLS

With 20 school districts in Ventura County, and 140,000 students, we aim to provide science and arts enrichment to everyone through outreach programs, curriculum kits, exhibits and after school programs

Assembly programs include two 50-minute presentations for large K-12 audiences.  Subjects include Ecology, Dinosaurs, Urban Agriculture, Bolts & Volts, and Waste, Waves and Watersheds.

We have three education kits on topics of Ocean Conservation, Ecology & Extinctions, and Grow!

ART, SCIENCE and SELF-RELIANCE

Partnership with Brian's Orchard

The community will grow food to demonstrate what it takes for a community to be self-sufficient.  Food security in urban centers is essential, as many communities live in food deserts, where fresh and healthy food is practically and economically unavailable. Brians Orchard has invited Leap Lab to partner to help construct and distribute garden boxes to the community.

EXPEDITION 2021

After 30 years of digging dinosaurs, we are glad to bring our entire collection to Leap Lab Ventura.  Last summer we found another triceratops skeleton, so join us to unearth another skeleton in Wyoming this summer!
